Ceylon, now known as Sri Lanka, began growing
tea commercially after the country's profitable coffee plantations were wiped out by a
"blight" in 1870.
Sri Lankan teas, made on the tea plantations grown on the mountain slopes are the world's
favourite.
Sri Lanka mainly produces Black Tea known for its aromatic amber liquors and its rich,
full, astringent flavour.
Delicately flavoured and bright in colour, Pure Ceylon Tea can be enjoyed any time of the
day, especially in the morning at breakfast and in the afternoon. Ceylon Teas on ice
is an exotic thirst quencher, a perfect alternative to soft drinks and alcoholic
beverages. |
